Research with Professor Roger Bland, 1995-present
Underwater Acoustics Research Group.

Helped to design and implement a 200kHz ultrasonic velocity meter experimental apparatus for boat wake detection. Designed and built: selectable gain tuned amplifier, high-power transducer drivers and pseudo random m-sequence generator. Coded specialized data collection and analysis programs using the IDL and Matlab environments. Carried out wavelet analysis of boat wake signals and mathematical modeling of boat wakes.

Graduate Student Teaching Assistant. 1993-present
Considerable experience teaching the first two semesters of physics-for-biology- majors laboratory course and discussion section. Taught physics-for-poets laboratory course and discussion section.

As part of a project to develop particle detectors for high-energy accelerator experiments, I worked to refine a table-top experimental apparatus to clean Tetramethylpentane to less than one part per billion of contaminants. Gained experience in the design and construction of: particle detectors for high energy physics, ultra-high vacuum apparatus, high voltage electronics and analog signal detectors
